Young Boy Walks 2-Miles Alone To Save A Dying Puppy

One day, a 13-year-old boy from Delft, one of the poorest areas in Cape Town, South Africa, walked alone three kilometers to help his dog.

He noticed that his dog had stopped eating and had bloody diarrhea, so he went to ask for help.

He walked two miles into town to a local animal shelter that takes care of dogs and cats, said an official at a rescue organization called Stöckigt.

“She was very thin and the boy told us he didn’t have enough money to feed her. We told him that we would do our best to save her life and that we would find her a new loving home where she could be taken care of. We thanked her for helping us.”

It turns out that the puppy, called Nanuk, had a deadly disease called parvovirus that would not have survived without treatment.

To keep Nanuk’s spirits up, the shelter began receiving regular visits from other kittens.

“The presence of the kittens, and the fact that one of us is always there to love and encourage him: …… I think it’s a combination of those things,” says Stekicht. Rescuers are looking for a forever home for Nanuk.

If they don’t eat, Nanuk will die.

Thank God this boy’s good heart saved her life.

Nanuk is now looking for her forever home.
